Mark Tisdel, Michigan House District 55

Mark Tisdel, a Republican politician in Michigan, first transitioned from representing the 45th district to winning a second term in the newly redistricted 55th district during the 2022 election cycle. In 2024, he built on this success to secure another term through a strategically crafted digital campaign. Despite being significantly outspent by his opponent, Tisdel secured victory by doubling his win margin from 2020 and outperforming other Republicans on the ticket by 3 percentage points.

The 2024 campaign for Mark Tisdel leveraged a data-driven strategy to build on his previous success in the 2022 cycle. Despite facing increased competition and being outspent 6.5 to 1, the goal was to capitalize on Tisdel's strong voter base and ensure his message resonated as effectively as in 2022, where he had doubled his win margin and outpaced other Republicans on the ticket by 3 percentage points. The goal was to increase name recognition and ensure voters remembered Tisdel's message during early voting and on election day.

To address this, the campaign employed a dual approach:

  1. Audience Targeting Campaigns: These efforts focused on building awareness and reinforcing Tisdel's name ID in key areas. Across display, pre-roll, and CTV channels, these campaigns delivered impressive results, targeting an audience of roughly 10,000 unique addresses:

    1. Over 52,000 impressions delivered with a 56.81% video completion rate on pre-roll, a strong performance, given the tailored targeting of a highly specific audience. These ads resonated with voters by delivering highly relevant content, ensuring the message reached the right audience at the right time. Audience reach extended with high device frequency (8.88 for CTV, 4.09 for PreRoll, and 12.86 for Display), far exceeding name recognition benchmarks of 5 to 7 exposures. This ensured voters consistently recalled Tisdel’s candidacy during critical moments.

  2. Geofence Campaigns:

    1. During early voting (10/30–11/03), ads targeted key voting areas, delivering over 1,300 impressions with a click-through rate of 0.71%.

    2. On election day, their geofence campaigns targeted polling locations in his district so voters could see his message before they ticked the ballot. This geofencing strategy ensured last-minute voter outreach, achieving over 25,000 impressions with a 0.29% click-through rate.

By combining these strategies, Tisdel's campaign maximized its reach and engagement across multiple touchpoints, reinforcing his presence in voters' minds throughout the election cycle.

By leveraging our platform’s advanced audience targeting and geofencing technology, Mark Tisdel's campaign achieved comprehensive voter coverage and precise message delivery. These tools ensured high-frequency exposure, far exceeding industry benchmarks, and secured his expanded margin of victory in 2024, despite significant financial disadvantages.

Kevin Rose, a consultant on behalf of the campaign, states:

"We ended up doubling our win margin from ’20 and outpacing Republicans on our ticket by 3% points. We were outspent 6.5 to 1 yet by using your targeting capabilities, we were able to get our message to those we needed to. Looking forward to working with you all again in the future."
